Paddling at Mirror Lake State Park

Mirror Lake State Park is located a few miles northwest of Baraboo on Fern Dell Rd. The center piece of the park is Mirror Lake itself. Mirror Lake was created from damming Dell Creek. The state park opened in 1966 after the state purchased the land around Mirror Lake.

Mirror Lake State Park is a 2,179-acre Wisconsin state park in the Wisconsin Dells region. Mirror Lake is a narrow reservoir with steep sandstone sides up to 50 feet tall. The lake has a surface area of 137 acres and an average depth of 10 to 14 feet. Recessed out of the wind, the water of Mirror Lake is usually calm and often as glassy-smooth as a mirror. These characteristics make Mirror Lake an excellent place for paddling.
